Disease-Oriented Research

The Department of Medicine conducts a range of research related to human diseases associated with a molecular or cellular characteristic that carries a risk for disease, a response to treatment, or leads to diagnostic procedures. Our research into the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of human disease is conducted in partnership with North Shore-LIJ departments, the Feinstein Institute for Medical Research, the Center for Learning and Innovation, as well as collaborations with leading academic institutions. Here are some of the current disease-oriented research projects being conducted within the Department of Medicine.
