Dermatology

Dermatology is a specialized branch of medicine dealing specifically with diseases of the skin, the largest organ in the body. Diagnosis and treatment of skin disease are provided by a dermatologist, who is highly trained in medical and cosmetic issues relating to the skin, scalp, hair, and nails. The Division of Dermatology at the North Shore-LIJ Department of Medicine is staffed by faculty and affiliated voluntary dermatologists. We offer a full range of cutting-edge, safe, and effective dermatology services to the communities of Long Island and Queens. Each dermatologist on staff shares our mission to provide each patient with the best skin care available.

Clinical Practice

The division offers inpatient consultation services at North Shore University Hospital, Long Island Jewish Medical Center, and North Shore-LIJ Stern Family Center for Rehabilitation. Outpatient consultations and ongoing management of dermatology conditions are also available through the hospital-based clinics at these institutions.
